Zeppelin over Waterloostraat

Shame on me... I did not even know a street with that name existed in Rotterdam! This is the Waterloostraat in Kralingen on sunny Sunday, September 14, 2008 with the Zeppelin floating over it.

The new HAL cruise ship Eurodam in Rotterdam

There she is: we proudly present the Eurodam, on the evening following the naming ceremony by Her Majesty our queen. On the right the original HAL headquarters of Rotterdam, nowadays the famous Hotel New York.

Dramatic skies over Liguria

Capo San Donato, Luguria (Semi-HDR)

Looking down over Ventimiglia (Semi-HDR)

Civo and Taggia in Semi-HDR

This is a so called SemiHDR picture (High Dynamic Range) of the interior of the church in Civo, Liguria, Italy. You don't have to like it, it shows definitely not not how it should look. I like the technique though, because of the surrealistic effect.

Another Semi-HDR; the monastry of Taggia and its mule.

Shakespeare Country spring

Looks like a painting, this beautiful view of the Avon. We are looking from the South-West, in the direction of Stratford.

No doubt about it: spring is finally here.

Coolsingel and Feyenoord

Feyenoord is the football pride of Rotterdam. The last couple of years its palmares has not been very impressive, though. Therefore the supporters do not need to win the Champions League to gather on the Coolsingel for a celebration; a national cup will do.
Photo above: Hollandsche Bank-Unie, a Rotterdam commercial bank, is also in the mood. Police is prepared to act, but everything remained quiet.

Rotterdam, "Prima Vera" Veerkade

Spring is finally in the air. In my hometown Rotterdam, there is a part that survived WWII - the so called Scheepvaartkwartier.

Always nice for a stroll on a Sunday afternoon. With its Park, the Euromast, the stately office-buildings and the view to "Manhattan on the Maas" on the other side of the water. Choose a nice day for a trip with a Spido ship and explore the Mainport Europe.
The Scheepvaartkwartier, where old meets new.

Prague (Cz)

Once a year my colleagues and I try to organize a so called 'social event' abroad. After Paris, London, Dusseldorf/Cologne, Copenhagen and (not for me) Rome, we went to beautiful Prague this time.

Since I visited Prague last, in 1986 (still behind the Wall), it has really gone through a metamorphosis. It is a very modern metropolis now, where many western European cities (certainly Rotterdam and Amsterdam) can learn a lot from!

Prague and its trams are beautiful!
